After completing a dash panel project for ATX Surf boats, we had the opportunity to work on another request for their model designators. The objective was to create 3D individual letters to replace the flat decal they were using.
When we develop individual letters, the challenge is often the same because we are working with small surfaces and that creates adhesion issues. The width of the letters is key, and, when needed we’ll adjust dimensions slightly to make sure we achieve great adhesion. Aside from dimensions, we also need to evaluate the substrate it will adhere to, as well as where the badge is located. We always need to adjust the adhesive we’re using to make sure our solutions are durable, even when the badge is heavily exposed to sun, water and salt pray.
With our unique LP forming technology, we can create thin 3D parts that are cost-effective. Once installed on the boat, the numbers and letters stand out and have a nice 3D effect.
